IBA's Statement of Faith

1. The Holy Scriptures as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, entirely trustworthy, and the only supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
2. One God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
3. Our Lord Jesus Christ, God manifest in the flesh, His virgin birth, sinless human life, bodily resurrection and His personal return in power and glory.
4. The redemption of lost and sinful man through the shed blood of the Lord Jesus Christ by grace through faith.
5. The regeneration and indwelling of the Holy Spirit enabling the believer to live a holy life.
6. The unity in the Spirit of all true believers, the Church, the Body of Christ.
7. The resurrection of both the saved and lost. The saved to eternal life and the lost to eternal damnation.

IBA's Vision

To reach those trapped in cults and the occult by supplying information through public lectures, seminars and research via fact sheets, tracts and correspondence. For those having loved ones in cults or the occult, IBA provides counseling and encouragement.

IBA's PURPOSE

IBA is an apologetic research & information center educating the public about cults and new age practices and is an evangelical, missionary-based ministry established to:
1. EVANGELIZE those in the cults, the occult (including New Age groups) and non- Christian religions.
2. EQUIPE THE CHURCH  to give reasons (apologetics) for the viability of the historic Christian Faith.
3. MOBILIZE people to counter the growth and influence of cults, the occult, New Age philosophies, and aberrant Christian doctrine.

IBA: SERVING THE COMMUNITY AND THE WORLD AT LARGE

RESEARCHING ...cultic and aberrant doctrine for public information, teaching, and publication.

EVANGELIZING  ..through personal and team witnessing at cult, new age, and neo-pagan gatherings.

SEMINARS ...presented to educate, teach, and equip believers to defend the historic Christian faith.

DEBATE/ DIALOGUE ...with representatives of other faiths/ religions via public meetings, radio, and inter-faith conferences.

COUNSELING ...provided by phone calls and meeting with individuals having loved ones in the cults or involved in the occult practices.

TEACHING ...courses on the subject of the cults, the occult. new age philosophy, and general apologetics in schools, colleges, and seminaries.

Touching the heart and mind through the Ministry of IBA

The proliferation of cults and new age thinking has penetrated our society on many different levels. The rise of cults and the occult practices among kids and young adults continues to grow at an alarming rate! 

With the advent of the internet, the attacks on the Bible and the historic Christian faith have created new challenges as never before!  And in the arena of ideas, Christianity is being threatened by new age and postmodern thinking as the dominant philosophy of our time!

Never before have we had the opportunity and the obligation to reach out to our culture with the good news of the Gospel!  Never before do we as Bible-believing Christians have the opportunity to boldly defend the Faith for the cause of Christ!

If were going to make an impact for Jesus Christ, we must act now: if not for our sake, for our childrens sake! At stake are not only lost souls but the future of the Christian Church!

There are few ministries as IBA equipped to meet these challenges!  God has granted us the time and resources necessary as stewards of His grace! But we cant do it alone! We need your prayers and financial support to allow us to do the work of the ministry! BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH

While serving in the military overseas. Dan R. Schlesinger was exposed to the many cults and false teachings challenging the claims of historic orthodox Christianity.  He then began educating, training, and mobilizing believers to both defend their Faith and evangelize those lost in cults, new age philosophy, and the non-Christian religions.

Dans formal education includes a B.A. degree in Biblical Studies & Theology from Biola University, an M.A. degree in Christian Apologetics from the Simon Greenleaf School of Law (now Trinity Law School). and a M.Div degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (now Trinity University International). He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Biblical or Religious Studies.

Rev. Schlesinger was ordained in 1986  and has served in Church-related ministries for a number of years. Most notably, he worked with the Christian Research Institute- CRI- (the late Walter Martin's ministry) as both Research Consultant and then Vice President of Research for four years. Dan is currently adjunct faculty member at San Jose Christian College, Trinity Life Bible College, and Shasta Bible College (Sacramento area locations). Dan has spent almost 30 years in cult apologetics and evangelism and participated in the work of Dr. Walter Martin's book The New Age Cult, and contributing to his essay in the book Agony of Deceit.  Recently Dan contributed to the newly revised and edited Kingdom of the Cults (Ravi Zacharias, Editor) to be released in 2003.  He is also published in Christian Research Journal, and writing a book entitled The Myth of Reincarnation in Light of Holy Scripture. Dan is a standing member of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS).

Dan R. Schlesinger founded the Institute for Biblical Apologetics Inc. (lBA) in 1993 and is located in the Grass Valley, California area. The ministry serves all of Northern California and elsewhere in the United States for the purpose of defending the Gospel & giving reasons for faith;  reaching the lost; equipping the saints; and glorifying the Lord Jesus Christ!
